Girl Scouts is now over and the sign ups for next year are due if you were already involved in a troop! Girl Scouts is a great things to do. The girls involved help their community with service projects and do fun activities! Something to look into, for sure.

The fifth and sixth grade orchestra concert will be on May 10th at 7 o'clock in the Goodman Auditorium. The fifth graders are performing songs including "The Tale of Thre Not So Blind Mice," "Spanish Dancer," "Tune a Rumble" and more! The sixth graders will be playing several songs, too!

Yesterday, the Roosevelt playground got a bit of a facelift. Woodchips were brought in, and fifth grade students helped out by shoveling them and putting them in place. Mr. Spelts said it is good for kids to help with projects like this and take pride in their school. Good work, everyone!

Nocturne is a book about two vampires who are trying to find their mother. They have a long journey in the underground vampire city and run into a lot of people who do not want them to find her. Stacy D. says this is a fun book to read! Check it out for yourself, it is in the Roosevelt library.

KATE: Hi, welcome to another edition of Roosevelt Elementary News. I'm Kate.
CHLOE: And I'm Chloe. Today is April 27, 2010.
KATE: Yesterday, the Roosevelt playground got a bit of a facelift. Woodchips were brought in, and fifth grade students helped out by shoveling them and putting them in place. Mr. Spelts said it is good for kids to help with projects like this and take pride in their school. Good work, everyone!
KATE: Fifth grade scientists have been seen in the area lately. Alex tells us what they were up to:
